Renovating the first floor bathroom had been put on hold because of Hurricane Florence. All contractors are and continue to be booked solid. Suddenly Mom was unable to walk the flight of stairs to the upstairs shower. The Swivel Sliding Transfer Bench makes it possible for Mom to easily shower in the tub/shower on the first floor. She has plenty of space to sit down on the end, can operate the swivel herself and can slide into the shower area with minimal help lifting her leg over the tub edge. The unit is well made, well engineered, and easy to put together. It sits very firmly on the flat area of the tub. It doesn't wobble. We got the extra handle to help Mom stand up in order to wash all areas. We added grab bars to the side and front shower walls and a rubber bath mat underneath the unit for safety. We roll up the shower curtain and use only the shower curtain liner, which had two slits cut in it, while she showers. Very little water gets on the floor. It's only been in use two weeks but assuming no defects, it operates just as you would like it to. The key is identifying a person's needs, measuring all spaces well and choosing the right model.
I love it, so glad I found your site ! Thanks
Glad we ordered the extra arm rest
I had to convince my mother that this item would be just right for her. She could not step into the shower un-assisted. She used this the first time and was sold. She loves it.
She said she didn't know how she managed before. Easy to assemble and quite sturdy.
Decent construction. Not institutional, last-for-30-years quality, but above average (and other cheaper competitors I've seen). Very nice features on chair plus easy to use locks.
